Keystone XL Pipeline05/22/2014
Several pollsters were in the field before the Obama administration delayed a decision on Keystone XL pipeline. In the new Reason/Rupe poll, 61 percent favored extending the Keystone pipeline, which would carry oil from Canada through the Midwest to refineries in Texas; a third were opposed. A Pew Research Center poll taken earlier in the year found 61 percent in favor and 27 percent opposed. In the Pew poll, solid majorities of Republicans (84 percent) and Independents (61 percent) favored its approval, as did 49 percent of Democrats.
