Gay Marriage Gains04/28/2014
In a new ABC News/Washington Post poll, 59 percent of those surveyed said they supported allowing gays and lesbians to marry legally, while 34 percent were opposed. Thirty-nine percent said they were strongly in favor, while 24 percent were strongly opposed, a 15-point gap. In 2004, just a third of respondents supported gay marriage. In the poll, 61 percent also supported gay adoption.
