Job Market Conditions
01/23/2013In the new CBS News poll, 44 percent of respondents said the job market in their area was good, while 52 percent described it as bad. In July 2010, 27 percent said the job market in their area was good. In a December Pew Research Center poll, 68 percent said jobs were difficult to find in their area, while 22 percent said that plenty of jobs were available. In the new CBS poll, 35 percent of respondents expected the job market in their area to get better in the next year, 15 percent expected it to get worse, and 46 percent expected it to stay about the same. The percent of people who expected the market to get better in the next year is up from 2010 and 2011 CBS News polls. Three in 10 were very worried about a job loss in their household, 26 percent were somewhat worried, and 43 percent were not at all worried.
