02/13/2013When Quinnipiac University pollsters asked a national sample of Americans who better reflected their views on guns, 43 percent of respondents said President Obama and 46 percent said the National Rifle Association. Poll results demonstrated predictable partisan splits. Independents opted for the NRA, 49 to 38 percent. A majority of young people, 54 percent, said the NRA better reflected its views. Among respondents 65 or older, 51 percent said Obama better reflected their views.
