Obama Abroad

For the first time in the Obama presidency, more adults say the leaders of other countries do not respect the president (53 percent) than respect him (41 percent). In early 2009, at the beginning of Obama's term, two-thirds of adults surveyed by Gallup said leaders abroad respected him. Gallup reports that most of the recent decline comes from Independents and Democrats. Sixty-one percent in the same survey said they were dissatisfied with the position of the United States in the world, while 37 percent were satisfied.
