The Draft Debate
02/15/2013Twenty-eight percent of respondents to the new Quinnipiac University national poll said the United States should reinstate the draft, but 65 percent were opposed. Older Americans, age 65 and above, were more likely (37 percent) than any other age group to support reinstating it; 24 percent of 18- to 29-year-olds gave that response. Fifty-two percent of those polled said they would favor drafting women if the draft were reinstated. Forty-two percent were opposed. Fifty-nine percent of men compared to 45 percent of women favored drafting women.
